Are you a hardworking and forward-thinking Procurement Team Leader, available immediately and looking to work in a market-leading and expanding international organisation? Are you CIPS Qualified, with great IT and negotiating skills, and the ability to lead a small but high performing Procurement team? We have a wonderful opportunity for a Procurement Team Leader to join a well-respected global company on a12 week temporary basis, with the possibility of further employment, based in South Birmingham.

Working for a company that delivers excellence to its’ clients, as Procurement Team Leader you will be tasked with the direct day to day management and development of the UK Procurement function, as well as overseeing operational purchasing requirements, ensuring effective business systems and customer services are monitored, evaluated and continuously improved upon in line with business needs and expectations, and in a cost-effective and timely manner.

You will guide and support the small procurement team, leading by example and supporting the procurement function in line with SLAs, whilst also conducting team meetings, one to ones and reviews. You will identify and coordinate an approved supplier base, developing strong relationships, negotiating costs and contracts as required whilst also ensuring that supplier management and reviews, as well as regular due diligence and activities, are taking place.

You will be a hands on, operational Procurement Team Leader, who is adept at effective order management, including placing and expediting orders in line with business needs, as well as identifying opportunities for the streamlining of procurement processes. You will have excellent data analysis and IT skills, able to work extensively with Excel and as well as generating and providing business and management information for direct reporting to the Operations Director regarding cost control, contract performance and product availability.

To succeed in this exciting, varied and challenging opportunity, you will be an experienced Procurement professional with experience of leading a team, and in possession of or willing to work towards a relevant Procurement qualification, as well as membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
You will be an enthusiastic and team player, able to prioritise both your own workload and that of others, with excellent IT and communication skills. A knowledge of the legal requirements of supplier contracts would also be a distinct advantage. You will also be available to start work immediately and be willing to commit to this initial temporary position for 12 weeks.
