We have a brand new permanent opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Administrator to join a market leading manufacturing business based in south Birmingham.
Working as part of a small finance team within this thriving business, you will provide full accounts payable administration support to the Finance Controller, looking after the day to day operations of all Purchase Ledger activity for this successful business. You will ensure the smooth running of the day to day accounts payable functions by posting invoices onto the system, matching these to the right projects, departments, and people.
A busy and varied role with a volume of both high and low value transactions to process payment for over 100 suppliers, as well as company expenses, you will receive bills, acknowledge the terms of the invoices, and relay information to the relevant managers and directors. You will liaise with suppliers regarding statements, credit notes and invoice queries, prior to issuing payments via BACS and cheque in accordance with the payment cycles and terms.
With outstanding attention to detail and due to the international nature of this business, you will assist the Financial Controller with the with Foreign Exchange transactions and Forward Contracts and work with Accounts Receivable to determine/allocate transactions and ensure that systems align. As an experienced Accounts Payable Administrator, you will reconcile and obtain authorisation for credit card usage and payroll balance sheets, support with the processing of weekly payroll from time to time, and assist with month end reporting.
You will be an experienced Accounts Assistant, ideally in a full Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable Administration role and be looking for an opportunity to demonstrate your skills in a down to earth, client focussed business. If you have experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing firm working with high volume, multi-currency transactions then this would be ideal.
Naturally, you will have strong IT skills, particularly in Excel. You will have amazing attention to detail and be a natural “numbers” person. You will have a no job too big or too small attitude to your work and be happy working on your own initiative as part of this small team.
