We have a lovely opportunity for a confident and polished Business Development Manager to join a prestigious Birmingham City Centre based organisation on a permanent basis.

As Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial part in the long-term development and growth of this well-regarded organisation. Your role will involve promoting and selling conferences, meetings, dinners and various events, engaging with key influencers and business connections from across the city and further afield. Attending regular networking events and exhibitions across the UK and visiting new and potential corporate clients and agents, you will be able to engage with different audiences with ease, adapting your approach as necessary.

Your client management skills will be absolutely key to your success within this role, which will see you acting as an ambassador for the venue and ensuring you provide an un-paralleled level of service to all current and potential clients. You will monitor the group sales pipeline, always looking for new opportunities to maximise revenue and maintaining a continuous flow of new business into the company. With excellent organisations skills, you will log and track new leads and ensure these are followed up in a timely manner, arranging further meetings as needed, conducting show rounds, creating quotes and closing sales to ensure sales targets are achieved.

Utilising your personable and outgoing nature, you will be confident attending numerous networking events across the working week, building connections with ease and presenting to potential clients as required. Managing the costing and budgeting of events for your array of clients, you will liaise with an array of internal teams and departments, ensuring the most comprehensive service is provided from start to finish and taking a real pride in all you do.

To succeed in this exciting opportunity, you will have previous experience working in a fast-paced event sales role, ideally in a similar venue hire or hospitality environment, with the ability to work under pressure. You will have previously instructed teams to organise and deliver successful corporate events and have proven experience delivering against targets. You will be comfortable working with a variety of people, always acting as an ambassador for the organisation.
