Rebecca Simkiss

Rebecca is Co-Founder and Joint Managing Director of SimkissGuy Recruitment, working with Richard to manage the strategic direction and day to day operations of the business. A Birmingham girl born and bred, Becky is passionate about the city, and has worked as a recruitment expert in the Colmore Business District since the summer of 2004. Becky brings leadership, energy, drive and a passion to be the best we can be to the SimkissGuy brand, and is not happy unless she has 101 things happening at the same time, whether it be launching a new networking event, or delivering a keynote speech to upcoming entrepreneurs. Away from SimkissGuy, Becky is Vice-Chair and Trustee of LoveBrum, a former Chair of BPS Birmingham Future, a mentor to several young professionals and sits on several regional boards including West Midlands Women’s Voice. Rebecca’s awards include a Fellowship from Birmingham Metropolitan College for her contribution to mentoring, 2017 Birmingham Businesswoman of the Year (Birmingham Awards) and 2018 Women of the Year (City of Birmingham Business Awards). Becky doesn’t have much free time, but away from SimkissGuy she loves holidays with her husband, spending time with her two young nieces, good food and enjoys nothing better than sitting in the sunshine with a good book and a glass of wine.

Richard Guy

As Co-Founder and Joint Managing Director alongside Rebecca Simkiss, Richard was born, raised and educated in Birmingham and brings valuable and diverse experience from the retail, financial services, publishing, healthcare and recruitment sectors. Proud to have a business ‘anchored’ in the Colmore Business District, when he’s not extolling the SimkissGuy team’s virtues at networking events across the City and wider West Midlands region, Richard leads the Colmore BID’s Community Building working groups’ efforts to make our City an even better place to work in and, is a committed non-executive Board Director of the Colmore Business District – part of an inspirational team of Directors dedicated to driving the strategic direction of the BID! Alongside this, Richard has been a member of the Greater Birmingham Chamber of Commerce’s Brexit Advisory Group which, since 2017, has provided key advise to multiple business sectors across Greater Birmingham. Richard also works closely with the careers team of a local state secondary school to provide invaluable insight into the recruitment market, helping to shape the schools’ support for the next generation of business leaders. Bringing calm, consideration and the occasional ‘Dad’ joke to the team, when not at SimkissGuy or facilitating his son’s extra-curricular activities, he can often be found working on his latest garden project or enjoying a well-deserved treat at his favourite artisan bakery with Mrs Guy and son, Eddy!
