Experienced Commercial Conveyancing Legal Secretary

We have a fantastic permanent opportunity for an ambitious Conveyancing Legal Secretary to join this dynamic and forward-thinking law firm based in Birmingham City Centre.

As a Commercial Conveyancing Secretary, you will provide essential and effective administrative and secretarial support to a dynamic team of fee earners, assisting them with whatever they may need. You will help with the processing of land registry documents and any other legal forms, and assist with the preparing and issuing of contract packs for solicitors on a regular basis. On a day to day basis you will also interact with clients over the phone and email in a friendly and polite manner, answering any queries they may have regarding the process of conveyancing. You must have outstanding typing skills, as you will be audio-typing large volumes of documents and bills via digital dictation.

Meticulous in everything that you do, you will undertake daily tasks such as producing documents to a high professional standard, and assisting with billing on a monthly basis, whilst also helping with any other financial administration as required by the team. Receiving and diverting inbound calls, assisting with diary management, processing incoming and outgoing post and handling ad hoc administrative tasks such as photocopying, scanning and archiving are all key parts of this varied opportunity.

For this role, you will need previous conveyancing experience, ideally within a real estate or property team in a legal practice. You will have excellent typing and IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and ideally PowerPoint. You will be comfortable with digital dictation, and happy in a role that requires a high volume of document production. A high degree of initiative and determination is essential, along with a “roll your sleeves up” attitude in all that you do, as there will be the occasion where you are asked to cover reception duties.
