By meeting face-to-face, you and a highly-trained Relationship Manager will take time going through your full educational and working history, so we understand all of steps you have taken, and the transferable skills you have acquired to date. Then, once we are sure we have a full understanding of your career journey, we will spend time discussing where you see your future career and outlining exactly what you’re looking for in your next role. By doing so we can ensure any opportunities we then discuss will be specifically matched to your skills, personality and ambition.

Registration with SimkissGuy typically takes an hour. We invite only the highest calibre of candidates to register with us – those we are certain we can help.

Together, in a private interview area, we will walk through your career, the type of business you feel most suited to, where you have excelled and your aspirations for the future.

At SimkissGuy we believe that to help you develop your career we need to fully understand your journey. We do this by listening. Your dedicated Relationship Manager will start at the beginning, your secondary school education, and take the time to listen and understand the journey you’ve taken and the reasons behind it. For us it’s the only way to recruit.

Your Relationship Manager will speak to you about each opportunity we feel meets the criteria established in your registration interview. For some this process happens very quickly, for others it takes a little longer – the dynamism of the employment market means it’s impossible to give a timescale. So please do keep a close on eye on your mobile phone for that phone call from us – it could happen at any time!

The SimkissGuy Birmingham offices are based in the heart of central Birmingham on the 1st Floor of Edmund Gardens, 125-131 Edmund Street, B3 2HJ. Positioned in the city’s thriving Colmore Business District, we are very easy to find, but should you need any additional information then please do call the office and we will be happy to help. Once you have met with us, you will receive an email from our Relationship Management team to again confirm what was discussed in your meeting and how we will be supporting you in finding your next career opportunity. We will then stay in touch on a very regular basis to let you know how we are getting on. When we do have an opportunity we feel will be of interest to you, we will always call you to discuss in detail everything we know about the company and your potential new position, so that we can be sure that you are 100% comfortable with any application you would like us to make on your behalf.

As a consultancy dedicated to long term partnerships and truly personal service, we know that it is important for you to hear from us on a regular basis about how we are progressing with your search. So, following your meeting with your dedicated Relationship Manager, you will hear from our Relationship Management team within 24 hours to reconfirm your requirements for your next career move. We will then be in touch every couple of weeks or so thereafter to update how our search for you is progressing. Of course, your dedicated Relationship Manager will be in contact with you to discuss exciting opportunities as soon as we’re aware of them!

Each opportunity we recruit for requires subtly different skills – from MS Office, to customer service, typing, numeracy and languages. To ensure that each exciting opportunity your dedicated Relationship Manager speaks to you about is appropriate, it’s important that we have an understanding of your core IT skills. Undertaken in the comfort of your own home, the results of your IT assessments will be discussed by your Relationship Manager during your initial meeting with us – but don’t worry, we use them as a guide only and your assessment results will just be one of a number of factors we consider when discussing potential opportunities.

We have designed our registration process to ensure the time you spend with us is focussed on learning about you, rather than filling in registration forms!

To allow us to do this, we will send you our SimkissGuy Welcome Pack as part of our “Confirmation of registration” email.

In your email you will find full details of your registration with us, and in your Welcome Pack you will find:-

  • Reference and Data Protection Form
  • Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form
  • Candidate and Payroll Details Form
  • Privacy Notice
  • Skills Form

We then ask that you bring your completed Welcome Pack to our meeting. This ensures that the time we spend with you is focussed on discussing your experience and career aspirations, so that we have all the information we need to work closely with you and fully support you in your search for that perfect next career step.

You will also be asked to bring along your Passport as proof of identification and a Bank Statement or Utility Bill dated within the last 3 months as proof of address.

We also ask for your original GCSE Maths and English certificates, if you have them, as many organisations – especially within financial services – will require us to provide proof of these when we are making an application on your behalf.

When we discuss a new vacancy with an employer, we carry out the same type of ‘in depth’ interview that you experience when you register – meaning that we’ll be uniquely positioned with our understanding of the company and job description to ensure your needs and aspirations are met.

This is why during our meeting we guarantee that we will carefully select vacancies matching your skills, personality and ambition. We will also approach on your behalf any company you would like to work with. Once you’ve met with us, we promise to keep in touch with you on a regular basis to make sure that you are fully updated on how our search is progressing.

When we have a new opportunity available that we hope will be of interest to you, your Relationship Manager will call you to fully discuss the details of the position. Over the phone, we will tell you the “ins and outs” of the opportunity, fully running through the day to day duties, job description, team culture, opportunities for progression, as well as the background to our relationship with the employer and the essentials such as working hours, benefits and salary.

We will always advise you of the name of the company we are recruiting for too, so that you are able to make your decision with as much information as possible. If you decide that this is an opportunity you would like to pursue, then we will send your details over to the employer and will keep you fully updated at every stage of your application. Of course, if you decide it is not the right opportunity for you, then we will continue searching for something that you feel is more suitable.

Quite simply, of course! Before attending an interview we’ll fully brief you on everything you need to know, so there are no unnerving surprises on the big day.

Along with verbal confirmation and briefing on your interview, you will always receive a full confirmation of interview email with absolutely everything we think you might need to know prior to your interview. Your Relationship Manager will also be on hand to answer any questions you may have and support you through the whole process.

During your initial meeting with us, if you would like, your Relationship Manager will also be able to help advise you on interview techniques.

Many candidates find permanent employment from temping and it is a great way to keep yourself busy, whilst on the lookout for your next permanent opportunity.

If you’re available immediately, alongside our search for permanent opportunities SimkissGuy will also focus on gaining you temporary roles in those environments you are keen to work in, which is a great way to broaden your work experience.

Temporary placements are fully managed by your Relationship Manager who will be available to support you throughout your assignment.
